Prayer for Iraq

So that future generations can live in peace

What can we do? Seemingly nothing. But in reality, a lot. While statesmen and politicians act (and from our point of view, sometimes directly against said peace), we can ask God to guide their thoughts and lead people everywhere to choose their leaders well and not contribute to tensions either in their own country or on a global scale. The project was launched in January 2020 and blessed directly by Pope Francis. Since then, dozens of people have prayed for 72 countries or nations (some without their own state), from Afghanistan to India. As of January 2026, this prayer will pass under the protection of the Holy Mountain Madonna to our Basilica. The launch takes place on the first Monday of each month and includes a moderated evening in which those present learn more about the country for which we are praying.
