Repairs and reconstruction
RESCUE OF THE SVATOHORSKÁ WELL
The Mariánská studánka is a small chapel-shaped building with a bulbous roof, built over the original well. The building is structurally quite degraded by the modifications made in the last century. The oval windows have been bricked up, repairs to the plaster have been made with unsuitable material, and the well has been enclosed with a concrete slab that also forms the floor of the interior space. In spite of these inappropriate and destructive alterations, some partial finds indicate a high degree of preservation of the original decoration. Fragments of linear patterns stand out under the paintings of the interior walls below the ceiling, also in the exterior south-western niche there are relatively well preserved remains of folk fresco figurative decoration (Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus).
