Marriage evenings: an invitation to a date that can change your relationship
Unique project from March also on Svatá Hora
Maybe you know it. You're sitting next to each other - and yet it's like there's a few extra centimetres between you. It's called fatigue, routine, sometimes just silence that slowly creeps into a relationship. The spark is lost. Why are words shorter and touches more rare?
You're not the first to wonder. Twenty years ago, the creators of Marriage Nights began to apply in a small way in the UK the experience, insights and advice of authors including Gary Chapman (books on the languages of love) as well as modern research in relationship psychology. The first couples surprisingly discovered how easy it was to strengthen empathy, or to pay attention to their partner's needs, or just to learn how to resolve conflicts without hurting.
Marriage Nights is a series of eight dates for couples of any experience - dinner, a short video, and most importantly, your own couple talk, which is the most valuable part of the program. They are run as part of a nationwide campaign called "Inviting the Czech Republic on a Date" and tens of thousands of couples in the country have already gone through them with very positive feedback.
The cost of the Marriage Nights is heavily subsidized - participants pay only the real cost of food and drink: a total of 16 dinners, 16 desserts, coffee/tea for each evening and a small gift. By comparison, similar couples development programs typically cost around 12,000 CZK, while here you get eight quality "date nights" for a fraction of that price.
If cost or childcare is a barrier for you, please get in touch - we will try to help with an additional parish donation, or by providing childcare at St Mary's in the improvised playroom.
We will meet every Tuesday from 3/3/2026 at Holy Mountain with the exception of Holy Week (i.e. no meeting on 3/31). The program always begins at 6pm and lasts until approximately 8:30pm depending on the length of your discussion together.
We are looking forward to seeing you, the Saint Mountain Team

Quotes from course participants in the Czech Republic:
"It brought us a lot closer together. The marriage got a spark. Every day I look forward to seeing my husband when he comes home from work."
"I felt more like a mother to his children rather than a wife, but after the course I have uplifted myself and I am back to being a wife."
"Our biggest problem is that everything revolves around the kids, so we appreciated that we didn't have any children on the course!"
"I appreciated the anonymity during the sessions - no team games. Thank you so much!!! (the dinner of course reinforces the good feeling :) )."
"When the course wasn't one week, we still had a date night without kids. I hope we will continue this."
"The course helped me to think more not about myself, but more about the other person, my husband. I got to know more about his feelings and needs."
"The course is balanced - humour, practical situations, real life stories, exercises are all excellent. The leaders are complementary and genuine. I have nothing to suggest for improvement."
"The course helped me to see my husband as a person too."
"I see the biggest purpose and benefit of Marriage Nights is that it puts clues or tools in the hands of couples so they know how to build that relationship. So that they know how and so that the intimacy and love doesn't get lost."
"The most important thing I've learned is working with the wife's feelings and tips on what to do to make her feel good."
"The course helped us even where we thought we had no problem. Plus, it can be applied to all relationships."
"Above all, we learned to sit on the couch together and solve the problem in front of us, not between us."
"It helped open our eyes. It made me realize that forgiveness = decision, and how many mistakes I make."
"We're glad you're offering the help of a professional for the case. We also appreciate the organization (candles, flowers, dessert...)."
