Blessing of motorbikes and scooters on Svatá Hora: common start to the new season
Register for the blessing of motorbikes and scooters
Even though we call a motorcycle a "machine", it's our partner. A companion on the road, a witness to freedom, joy and quiet thoughts behind the visor of a helmet. And that's why it makes sense to start the new motorcycling season together - with respect, gratitude and a plea for protection on the road.
On Saturday, March 28, at 3 p.m., a blessing of motorcycles and scooters will take place in the square at St. Mary's Mountain, to which all motorcyclists - regardless of make, cubic capacity, experience or creed - are invited. Primarily from Příbram and its surroundings, but also from further afield. Owners of road bikes, endurs, touring machines and scooters can come - in short, anyone who wants to give their ride more than just a full tank.
The meeting of participants is scheduled for 14.30-14.45, when the registration of machines will take place. A short speech and blessing ceremony will follow at 15.00. The event will be led by Miloš Szabo, a priest and motorcyclist who himself rides a BMW 800 GS and knows that the road can be both beautiful and unpredictable. The meeting will also include a joint sounding of the horn in memory of the bikers who will not be riding with us next season - a silent but powerful gesture of solidarity.
This is not a closed event for faithful Catholics. Rather, it is a gathering of people who share a joy of riding, a respect for life, and the knowledge that we don't have everything in our hands. The blessing is not a magical ritual, but a reminder of responsibility - to ourselves, to fellow drivers and to other road users.
Pre-registration is recommended at milos.szabo@farnost-svatahora.cz, but it is also possible to arrive on site - it is important to arrive on time.
Whether you ride daily, just on weekends, or are just getting ready to dust off your bike after the winter, Svatá Hora can be a good place to start the new season. With a full tank of gas, an open heart, and a wish for every trip to have a happy return as well. And that even on the roads we remember to be friends who know how to help those in need. And it doesn't have to be just a biker.
