Current plans

The pilgrimage site of Svatá Hora has attracted people longing for a spiritual experience as well as those who have sought supernatural phenomena and miracles here since its inception. Since there were no such communication possibilities as we know today, most people did indeed wander to this place, i.e. they set out on foot, with an uncertain view of the time horizon for their return and with the hope that someone would take them on the way and at their destination, offering them lodging and food.

When, thanks to the Jesuits, and later the Redemptorists, this pilgrimage site was expanded to include a magnificent baroque complex, the devout and curious pilgrims were also joined by those who came here, and later came to marvel at the painting, sculpture and architectural art.

Today, all these categories of people go to the Holy Mountain. We at the Holy Mountain believe that each of them will find what they need above all for their souls. And hopefully, in time, for their bodies..

New plans for the near future:

SAINT MOUNTAIN MONDAY

Start of the week with the saint of the day

At the 5pm evening Mass, we will get to know the saint of the day and try together to find not only the reason he was canonized, but also the legacy he has for today's modern Christian.

We will start from Advent, i.e. December 1, 2025.

BIBLE AFTERNOON

God's Word for everyone

The role of priests is first and foremost to proclaim the Word. That Word with a capital letter is the Word of God, and the Word of God is contained in the Bible. In a book that almost every Christian has at home, but which at the same time almost none of them read regularly. Moreover, it is according to this Word that the Bible was not and is not intended for private interpretation. Every fortnight on Sundays at 3 pm we can listen to a Bible presentation with the interpretation of specific sacred texts.

Starting in Advent, December 14, 2025.

PRAYER FOR A SAFE WORLD

That future generations may live in peace

What can we do to make this happen? Seemingly nothing. But in reality, a lot. While statesmen and politicians act (and from our point of view, sometimes directly against said peace), we can ask God to guide their thoughts and lead people everywhere to in turn choose their leaders well and not contribute to tensions either in their own country or on a global scale. The project was launched in January 2020 and blessed directly by Pope Francis. Since then, dozens of people have prayed for 72 countries or nations (some without their own state), from Afghanistan to India. As of January 2026, this prayer will pass under the protection of the Holy Mountain Madonna to our Basilica. The launch takes place on the first Monday of each month and includes a moderated evening in which those present learn more about the country for which we are praying.

We begin on Monday, January 5, 2026.

CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER

Meditation in silence

The Holy Apostle Paul says that in God we live, move and have our being. Anthony de Mello tells the story of the fish who searched the sea all his life without noticing that he lived in it all the time. Contemplative prayer can be a simple opening of the eyes to this reality. Every fortnight on Sundays at 6pm an open group will meet for silent prayer together, in which there will be nothing to do but to pay kind attention to one's own body, to life, to the presence of God. It is not necessary to "be a believer". The meeting will begin with a short introduction, and then a half hour or so of silent meditation.

We will probably begin in Advent, to be announced in due course.
