Educational art competition for children and exhibition Christmas in Bohemia and Ledru (Italy): kindergartens and schools
The theme of the art competition Christmas in Bohemia and Ledru is the representation of the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, Christmas and angels. The competition and the exhibition are part of a collaboration between nativity artists from Valle di Ledro and Pribram. This is the 9th year of the event, which includes an exhibition of the nativity scenes and, this year, an art drawing competition for children. The Valle di Ledro region is not only linked to Pribram by the fate of the displaced during the First World War, but also by the tradition of crib-making. The front line expelled the inhabitants of the Valle di Ledro to Příbram and other towns in the Central Bohemian Region (former Austria-Hungary) such as Milín, Buštěhrad, Nový Knín, Ptice, Chyňava, Doksy or Ostrov u Tochovic. It was letters and pictures that helped spread hope and understanding in warring Europe even during World War I. A cartoon can help and comfort the inhabitants of the towns in question in a difficult time.
Competition rules
1. Duration of the competition
The competition event called Christmas in Bohemia and Ledru will be carried out between 3 November 2025 and 17 December 2025, it is not limited to the territory of the Czech Republic and Italy, anyone can participate.
2. Conditions of participation
Categories: there are three age categories:
1. category: 3-7 years old
2. categories: 8-11 years
3. category: 12-15 years
Size and classical format: A4, A5 image; processing technique is free. On the back of the entry, please provide contact details: name and surname, age, name of the school or kindergarten, contact e-mail (at parents' or school), address, telephone.
The organiser of the competition will keep the work submitted to the competition and reserves the right to dispose of it and to present it on the website, social networks and project partners.
3. Submission of artworks and handing them in directly at Svatá Hora
For nurseries and schools and the exhibition at St. Mary's, delivery by 17 December 2025. For individuals who become aware of the competition, there is also the possibility to deliver the image during the Christmas period.
