Announcements from Sunday, 2/15 with important information for the following week:

From the Life of Holy Mountain:

1. Prayer for a Safe World continues in February with prayer for Iraq. The intercessions for each day are on the bulletin board at the entrance to the Basilica and in the Adoration Chapel.

2. Today (Sunday, Feb. 15) at 2 p.m., parents are being prepared for the baptism of their child; both parents may attend this meeting while pregnant before the child is born.

3. On Wednesday we begin the Lenten season with the giving of ashes, on Ash Wednesday there will be two Masses at Holy Mountain - morning at 7:00 a.m. and evening at 5:00 p.m. At both Masses you can receive the sign of ashes.

4. Next Sunday - on the First Sunday of Lent, our catechumen Christopher, who desires to receive baptism this Easter, will be introduced to our community at the 11:00 am Mass during the Scrutinies, come to encourage and support him.

From the life of the Catholic Church:

1. The new Archbishop of Prague, Msgr. Stanislav Pribyl will take office on Saturday, April 25 at the 11 am Mass.

2. Pope Leo XIV appointed the current Apostolic Nuncio to the Czech Republic, Msgr. Jude Thaddeus Okolo as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Haiti; the name of his successor in Prague has not yet been announced.

3. This year is interesting because many Muslim countries begin Ramadan on the exact day of the beginning of the Christian Lenten season.
