Meeting of searchers

Who's the Seeker? In a way, every one of us. Or at least should be. In the Bible, among other things, are these words of Jesus: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God..." In other words, no one and we should ever consider ourselves to have already found the kingdom of God, because maybe that's when we start to lose it. Seeking God, seeking his will, seeking faith, but also seeking ourselves and seeking answers to life's many questions is a matter that should accompany us from the moment we begin to use reason until the moment when, after death, we stand before eternity and wonder, again in the words of the Bible, through whom God spoke to us and in whom we did not see him, even though we could have seen him, but also what we could have done and did not do, and conversely what we did, even though we did not realize that we had done it..

Human life is a gift that we did not invent, but that was given to us. And we can unwrap it together and seek guidance on how to live it and not waste it. In any situation.

We invite you to seekers' meetings during which we will discuss in an appropriate way the basics of the faith, the differences of the various faiths, an introduction to the Bible, as well as the distinctiveness of Christianity from other religions and the essential features of the Catholic way to God. We will not avoid questions about the Church, its historical failures, or discussion of the more challenging issues of contemporary Catholicism in this country or in the world.

Who are these meetings for?

  • people aged 17 and over who have not yet been baptised

  • adults who were baptised as children but have not been further guided or nurtured in the faith

  • partners of Catholic women or men who want to know more about their faith but cannot explain it to them

  • those who are returning to practice their faith after a long period of time

  • to anyone who feels they cannot or will not confess

  • to Catholics who have been led in the faith, practice the faith, but want to go through in adulthood what they believed as children

Seekers meetings last for one year, from Easter to Easter. For some it may be an introduction to the faith, for others it may be preparation for baptism, lifelong confession, or just listening or further education in the faith.

We will begin on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 6:30 pm.
