Civil wedding

Even if you are not a baptized Catholic and it is not possible to have a church wedding ceremony, the grounds of Svatá Hora include two places where you can have a civil (civil) marriage by arrangement with the registry office in Příbram, the Baroque refectory and Toufar's Meadow.

How to proceed?

1. write to office@farnost-svatahora.cz to find out if the location you have chosen is available on the date you have chosen.

2. then contact the registry office in Pribram to notify them of your choice and arrange everything necessary for a valid marriage under Czech legislation.

3. a personal visit to the registry office is then required for both fiancés, where you should take with you: a valid ID card or passport, the original birth certificate, a final divorce decree (if one of the partners is divorced) or a death certificate (if one of the partners is a widower or widow).

4. subsequently, a personal visit to St. Helena is required by both spouses, where a contract is signed which sets out the exact conditions to be observed when entering into a civil marriage.

Although the civil ceremony takes place on the grounds of the Holy Mountain, it is not a church marriage, and in order to avoid confusion, the wedding couple is not allowed to take photos in the ambulatory or basilica during the wedding day. Taking photos in the refectory, in front of the grounds (in the square) or in the meadow is allowed.
