Anointing of the sick
It is a ministry for seriously ill and dying Catholics who wish to live this most important moment of their lives, the transition from this world to eternity, together with Jesus. Therefore, it is ideal to receive this sacrament while still conscious, when one learns of a less than optimistic diagnosis, or, given one's age and the medications used to keep vital organs functioning, is able to assess that one's days are coming to an end.
The reception of this sacrament (if the person is conscious) includes a profession of faith, the sacrament of reconciliation (confession) and then Holy Communion. If the sick or dying person is unconscious or on life support, the priest will only do what is possible given the condition of the sick person.
Anointing of the sick cannot be given to a person who has already died!
Příbram consists of three parishes - Příbram town, Příbram-Březové Hory and Příbram-Svatá Hora. To the seriously ill and dying, call first the priests of your parish, then the others, some of us will be glad to minister to them.

Once a year (on the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, February 11) the Sacrament of the Sick is conferred together at Mass. The anointing of the sick can be received especially by those of the above mentioned who are able to move or are conscious and can manage the transport to the Holy Mountain. It is an expression of the children's love for their aging parents to bring them at least once a year to the community in the Basilica to experience prayer together and to enjoy the fraternal favor of the other faithful.
Before Mass, they fill out a short form available in the sacristy.
