Child Baptism

<summary>We would like to have our child baptized at Svatá Hora. Is that possible?</summary>
<p>
Yes, we would be happy to baptize your child. We just ask that you first make time for a meeting where you will learn everything you need to know about both the ceremony and the conditions for baptism.

Please write to us first at <a href="mailto:basilica@farnost-svatahora.cz">basilica@farnost-svatahora.cz</a> to let us know you are interested in having your child baptized, and then we will arrange a specific date for the preparation and the baptism. 
The preparation meeting takes place in the cloisters in front of the shop (information center).

<summary>Who must attend the preparation session?</summary>
<p>
We ask that both parents make time for this, even if they are not married. <u>Please arrange for childcare for the duration of this pre-baptism meeting: if necessary, one of your relatives can take the baby for a walk in the Svatá Hora cloisters.</u>
Since multiple couples may be participating in the preparation, please understand that we cannot manage this with small children present.
Ideally, you should attend this preparatory meeting while you are still pregnant, when you do not have to worry about childcare, breastfeeding, or diaper changes.

<summary>What is the procedure for the baptism of a child who is already in school?</summary>
<p>
Such a child already has their own opinions and often even argues with their parents’ views; therefore, before the baptism itself, they must know something about God, the Catholic faith, and the Christian way of life that follows from baptism.
