Special tours in August will reveal the hidden corners of Svatá Hora

This August, Svatá Hora invites visitors to its popular special guided tours, which will take them to places they wouldn’t normally see during a regular visit. On several select dates, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Jesuit residence, the historic cellars, or the Svatá Hora bell tower and learn about their history and points of interest through the guides’ engaging commentary.

Jesuit Residence

The tour takes visitors to areas of the former Jesuit residence that are normally off-limits. You’ll learn more about its founding, visit an art gallery featuring tributes to the miracles of Our Lady of Svatohorská, and explore the so-called “bishop’s room” as well as other interesting sites.

Dates:

• 11 a.m.: August 4, 7, 12, 17, 19, and 21

• 3:00 p.m.: August 5, 10, 13, 18, and 20

The Cellars of Svatá Hora

These historic cellars, which underwent extensive renovation in 2015, offer a glimpse into areas that were closed to the public for many years. The guided tour will explain the Jesuits’ original plans, the cellars’ current appearance, and the restoration process.

Dates:

• 11:00 a.m.: August 5, 11, 14, 18, and 20

• 3:00 p.m.: August 3, 6, 7, 12, and 17

Bell Tower

Visitors to the bell tower will learn about the Svatá Hora bells, their history, placement, tuning, and suspension method. The tour also includes a view of Příbram from the windows of the clock tower.

Dates:

• 11:00 a.m.: August 3, 6, 10, and 13

• 3:00 p.m.: August 4, 11, 14, 19, and 21

All tours begin at the gift shop beneath the clock tower, are conducted exclusively with a guide, and can be arranged outside the listed dates by prior arrangement.

Tours last approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Capacity at the bell tower is limited to 15 people.

Admission for each tour is 70 CZK.
